How to Make a Paper Plate Starfish Craft
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Get your supplies together first, especially anything that needs to dry, so you're not waiting around later.
Step 2: Paint the Plate
Paint the outside of the plate orange and let it dry, adding a second coat if needed.
Step 3: Cut the Star Shape
Print the starfish pattern, trace the star body onto the plate, and cut it out.
Step 4: Add the Eyes
Add the wiggle eyes to the face.
Step 5: Stamp On Cheeks
Dab pink paint onto the sponge and stamp cheeks on either side of the face, then let dry.
Step 6: Stamp the Arm Texture
Dip a fresh pencil eraser into yellow paint and stamp dots down the center of each of the five arms for texture, then let dry.
Step 7: Add the Glitter Outline
Trace over the star's outline and the yellow dots with swirls of iridescent glitter glue, then let it dry fully. This is the step that turns it from a basic star into an actual starfish, so give it plenty of time before anyone picks it up.
Step 8: Draw the Smile
Finish with a black marker smile from cheek to cheek.
All done!
