How to Make a Paper Plate Hammerhead Shark Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Grab everything on the list above and lay it out, this one moves fast once you get started.
Step 2: Cut the Body
Print and cut out the shark patterns, then trace the body shape onto the outside of the plate.

Step 3: Paint the Tube and Plate
Paint the paper towel tube, plus the top half and bottom edge of the plate, blue and let dry.

Step 4: Add the Eyes to the Tube
Flatten the tube slightly and glue a wiggle eye to each end, this tube is what gives it that famous hammerhead shape, so take your time flattening it evenly.

Step 5: Cut the Fins and Mouth
Trace and cut a dorsal fin, tail fin, and two pectoral fins from blue cardstock, and a mouth from black cardstock.

Step 6: Attach the Head
Glue the flattened tube across the middle of the plate.

Step 7: Attach the Fins
Attach the tail fin to the base of the body, the dorsal fin to the top, and the pectoral fins to the sides.

Step 8: Add the Teeth
Draw teeth along the top and bottom of the mouth piece and fill them in with the white paint pen.

Step 9: Add the Final Details
Glue the mouth into place, then finish with two oval nostrils and three half-circle gills drawn with the black marker.
All done!
Your hammerhead shark is ready to swim!
