How to Make a Paper Plate Thankful Wreath Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Lay out everything from the list above ahead of time, it makes the actual crafting go a lot smoother.

Step 2: Paint the Plate

Paint the outside of the plate orange and let it dry, adding a second coat if needed.

Step 3: Cut Out the Center

Cut out the circular center of the plate to leave just the wreath-shaped ring.

Step 4: Trace the Leaves

Print the leaf patterns, then trace several leaves onto each of your cardstock colors, orange, yellow, green, burgundy, and tan, for a good variety.

Step 5: Cut Them All Out

Cut out all the leaves.

Step 6: Add Leaf Veins

Outline and add veins to each leaf using a marker that matches its color.

Step 7: Write What You're Thankful For

On each leaf, write one thing you're thankful for with the black marker, a nice one to turn into a group project if more than one kid's crafting.

Step 8: Attach the Leaves

Glue the leaves around the wreath ring, overlapping slightly as you go.

Step 9: Cut the Banner

Print the banner pattern, trace it onto ivory cardstock, and cut it out.

Step 10: Letter the Banner

Outline the banner with a brown marker and write “Thankful for” across it, or swap in “Grateful for,” “I am Thankful,” or “I am Grateful,” whatever fits.

Step 11: Attach the Banner

Finish by gluing the banner to the center of the wreath.

All done!

Your thankful wreath is ready to hang!
