Feelings and Emotions Recognition with Sharks for Preschoolers

Sharing is caring!

Inside: These Shark Feelings and Emotions Posters are the perfect way to reinforce feelings and emotions in a fun way for your preschooler.

I love talking about emotions with my preschooler. We have a few different tools that I use to talk out their feelings, this shark post for feelings and emotions is another tool in our tool box.

Giving children several ways to talk about and identify their feelings is essential for social emotional learning.

I love the beautiful art on these, the sharks are so friendly and cute, it's so easy for children to get excited about interacting with them.

How to Use Ocean Themed Feelings Posters

Talking about emotions can be difficult the longer we wait before beginning. Starting in preschool or kindergarten will lay the framework for kids to be aware of their emotions, and be able to give them a name, and eventually understand them.

This poster set gives kids a cute and interactive way to point out their feelings . . . even if they aren't talking yet.

Here are the full instructions:

  • Print out each page (I recommend card stock for long usage)
  • Laminate pages
  • Demonstrate how to add the flashcard to the middle of the poster to show emotions.
  • Give the flashcards to the child, and see what they do.

Here are some extras you might need:

A laminator If you want to keep these printables around as long as you can, so I recommend laminating the pages so you can get the most use out of them. I have three children, so these cards get a lot of use.

-Scissors- You have to cut out the cards, you can use scissors, or this fancy paper cutter.
