Crab Handprint Craft
This crab handprint craft is giving major beach day energy, minus the sand in your shoes. It’s cute, simple, and full of personality (just like the kids making it). Whether you’re in full-on summer theme mode, teaching about ocean animals, or just need a quick “please stop asking for another snack” activity, this cheerful little crab is here for you.
You only need a few basic supplies, and the best part? No paint, no glitter, no cleanup that ends with vacuuming glue out of your hair. Just some paper, scissors, and your kid’s tiny handprints.

What You'll Need for This Handprint Crab Craft
Let's Make a Crab Handprint Craft
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Gather your supplies.
Step 2: Cut Out the Pieces
Start by tracing both of your child’s hands on red construction paper and cut them out. These will be the crab’s claws.
Cut out two white circles for the eyes.
Step 3: Glue the Claws Together
Glue the two red handprints together with palms overlapping to make a round crab shape with claws sticking out.
Step 4: Add the Eyes
Add the white circles to the top of each “thumb” area. These are your crab’s eyeballs.
Step 5: Draw the Pupils and Smile
Draw black ovals inside each white circle for pupils.
Use the black marker to add a tiny smile right between the two handprints.
All done!
Your friendly crab is ready to scuttle!
We'd love to see yours! Snap a photo and share it in the comments.
