Cherry Popsicle Stick Craft for Kids

Acrylic craft paint – red, green
Light green cardstock or construction paper
Paintbrush

Glue gun and glue sticks

How to Make a Cherry Popsicle Stick Craft

This cherry popsicle stick craft comes together with a little cutting, painting, and gluing. Follow the steps below to make your adorable craft stick cherries.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Gather all the supplies needed for this cherry popsicle stick craft. Laying everything out before you start keeps the process smooth and fun.

Step 2: Cut and Paint the Sticks

Cut 6 craft sticks in half with scissors. Paint all 6 halves red and leave one full stick to paint green. Let dry and apply a second coat if necessary.

Step 3: Assemble the Cherry Bodies

Lay 3 red stick halves side by side and glue them together to form one cherry. Repeat with the remaining 3 halves to make a second cherry.

Step 4: Shape the Stem

Bend the green craft stick into a V shape to form the cherry stem. Hold it in position while the glue sets or secure with a small dot of glue.

Step 5: Attach the Cherries to the Stem

Attach one red cherry rectangle to each end of the green V-shaped stem using a glue gun and glue sticks.

Step 6: Cut Out the Leaf

Trace a simple leaf shape onto light green cardstock with a pencil and cut it out with scissors.

Step 7: Attach the Leaf

Attach the leaf to the top of the stem where the V meets, using a glue gun and glue sticks.
