How to Make a Paper Plate Patriotic Flower Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Pull everything from the list above before you start so you're not hunting for scissors mid-craft.

Step 2: Cut the Flower Shape

Print the flower patterns, trace the flower shape onto the inside of a paper plate, and cut it out.

Step 3: Paint the Petal Stripes

Paint red stripes onto each petal and let dry.

Step 4: Paint the Stem Sticks

Paint two jumbo craft sticks bright green and let dry, adding a second coat to either color if needed.

Step 5: Cut the Leaves, Center, and Stars

Trace and cut two leaves from bright green cardstock and a flower center circle from blue cardstock, then trace and cut six stars from the back of the silver glitter craft foam.

Step 6: Add Leaf Veins

Loosely paint an outline and a center vein on each leaf with bright green paint.

Step 7: Assemble the Stem

Glue the two craft sticks together end to end to form one long stem, then attach the leaves to the stem.

Step 8: Attach the Stars

Peel the backing from the silver glitter stars and press all six firmly onto the blue center circle, these self-adhesive stars go together fast, just peel and press, no drying time needed.
