How to Make a Paper Plate Patriotic Gnome Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Lay out everything from the list above ahead of time, it makes the actual crafting go a lot smoother.

Step 2: Cut the Plate in Half

Fold the plate in half and score the fold firmly, then cut it in half with scissors.

Step 3: Trace the Hat and Beard Pieces

Print the gnome patterns, then trace a hat shape once onto red cardstock and once onto blue cardstock, seven stars and five stripes onto white cardstock, and two noses onto tan cardstock.

Step 4: Cut Everything Out

Cut out all the pieces.

Step 5: Decorate the Hats

Glue the white stars onto the blue hat and the white stripes onto the red hat, then trim away any excess white cardstock hanging past the edges.

Step 6: Attach the Noses and Hats

Glue a tan nose to each paper plate half, then attach the matching hat to the top edge of each half, using the reference photo for placement.

Step 7: Add the Pom Pom Beards

Attach a mix of white and silver pom poms across both plate halves to build each gnome's beard, let kids go a little wild here, there's no wrong way to place them.
