Get everything from the list above within arm's reach before you dive in.
Step 2: Paint the Plate
Paint the outside of the plate orange and let it dry.

Step 3: Cut the Flame Base
Print the campfire patterns, trace the base flame shape onto the plate, then cut it out.

Step 4: Cut the Flame Layers
Trace and cut the largest flame from red cardstock, the next size down from orange cardstock, and three small flames from yellow cardstock.
Step 5: Add the Side Flames
Glue two of the small yellow flames to the left and right edges of your plate base.

Step 6: Layer the Center Flames
Layer the large red flame, then the orange flame, on top of the base.

Step 7: Add the Top Flame
Add the remaining small yellow flame to the center.

Step 8: Cut the Logs
Measure and cut two 11 by 2 inch rectangles from light brown cardstock for the logs, and trace the oval log-end pattern twice onto ivory cardstock.
Step 9: Assemble the Logs
Glue an ivory oval to the end of each log and round off the four corners with scissors.

Step 10: Draw the Wood Grain
Draw an oval outline, a swirled center, and bark texture on each log with the brown marker.

Step 11: Cross the Logs
Glue the two logs together in an X shape with the cut ends facing down.

Step 12: Attach the Flames
Attach the flames behind the crossed logs to finish.
