Sun Handprint Craft
This cheerful sun handprint craft is bursting with personality! A perfect summer or weather-themed project that lets kids add a touch of cool with handmade sunglasses and a big sunny smile.
Materials
- Yellow construction paper
- Orange construction paper
- Black construction paper
- Glue stick
- Pencil
- Black marker
Tools
- Scissors
Instructions
- Gather your supplies: colored construction paper, scissors, glue stick, pencil, and a black marker.
- Trace your child’s hand on yellow paper and carefully cut it out. This will be the sun’s face.
- Fold an orange sheet of construction paper and cut out a large starburst shape for the sun’s rays.
- From black paper, cut out a pair of sunglasses: two roundish squares connected by a thin strip, plus two side arms.
- Glue the sunglasses onto the yellow handprint just above the palm area.
- Use a black marker to draw a simple smile beneath the sunglasses.
- Glue the handprint onto the center of the orange sunburst background.
- Let everything dry, and then show off your smiling, sunny creation!
