How to Make a Paper Plate Uncle Sam Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Lay out everything from the list above ahead of time, it makes the actual crafting go a lot smoother.

Step 2: Paint the Face

Print the Uncle Sam patterns, trace the face shape onto the inside of the plate, and paint it with your flesh-tone color. Let dry, adding a second coat if needed.

Step 3: Cut the Hat Pieces

Trace and cut a hat from red cardstock, a mustache and four stripes from white cardstock, a hat band from blue cardstock, and five stars from silver glitter craft foam.

Step 4: Assemble the Hat

Glue the white stripes onto the red hat, the silver stars onto the blue band, then attach the band to the hat.

Step 5: Add the Face Pieces

Add the wiggle eyes, the mustache, and the pom pom nose to the face.

Step 6: Add the Glitter Accents

Accent the mustache with lines of glitter glue and the beard area with swirls of glitter glue, then let dry completely before the next step, or it tends to smudge under the weight of the hat.
