How to Make a Paper Plate Carrot Craft
This paper plate carrot craft comes together with a bit of painting, cutting, and gluing. Follow the steps below to create your cute pair of Easter carrots.
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Gather all the supplies needed for this paper plate carrot craft. Having everything ready before you begin makes the process smooth and easy.
Step 2: Paint the Paper Plates
Basecoat the inside of one paper plate with light orange acrylic craft paint, and the second plate with medium orange. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat if necessary.
Step 3: Trace the Carrots
Download and print the carrot pattern, then cut it out with scissors. Trace the carrot shape onto each painted paper plate with a pencil.
Step 4: Cut Out the Carrots
Cut out both carrots with scissors, making sure to cut inside the traced lines for a clean, finished look.
Step 5: Add the Eyes
Attach two wiggle eyes to each carrot with a glue gun and glue sticks.
TIP: Liquid craft glue also works — just allow extra drying time.
Step 6: Add the Cheeks
Create rosy cheeks by dipping a sponge dauber into pink acrylic craft paint and stamping it on either side of each carrot's face.
Step 7: Draw the Smile
Draw a smile from cheek to cheek on each carrot using a black permanent marker.
Step 8: Trace the Fronds
For each carrot, trace one bright green handprint and two medium green handprints from the pattern onto the corresponding cardstock with a pencil.
Step 9: Cut Out the Fronds
Cut out all the frond patterns with scissors, making sure to cut inside the traced lines for a clean finish.
Step 10: Attach the Fronds
For each carrot, attach the bright green frond in the center of the two medium green fronds with a glue gun, then glue the finished fronds to the top of each carrot.
