How to Make a Paper Plate Camper Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Pull everything from the list above before you start so you're not hunting for scissors mid-craft.
Step 2: Split the Plate
Fold the plate's edge in toward the center circle and crease it firmly, then cut along that fold to split the plate into two pieces.

Step 3: Cut the Camper Body
Print the camper patterns, trace the camper body shape onto the larger half of the plate, cut it out, and trace the zig-zag roofline detail on top.
Step 4: Paint the Camper
Paint the bottom section of the camper bright blue and let it dry.

Step 5: Cut the Windows, Door, and Flags
Trace and cut a rectangle window and a circle window from light blue, a door, trailer body, and hitch arm from gray, and a wheel from black. Cut a handful of small triangles from your bright cardstock scraps for the flag garland.

Step 6: Add the Marker Details
Outline and detail all the camper pieces with a black marker, using a reference photo if you have one handy.
Step 7: Assemble the Small Pieces
Glue the circle window onto the door, and the button onto the center of the wheel.

Step 8: Attach the Trailer Pieces
Assemble the camper: hitch arm to trailer, trailer to the base of the camper body, then door, window, and wheel into place.

Step 9: String the Flag Garland
String your triangle flags along a 6 inch piece of twine, then glue the whole garland across the top of the camper with the ends tucked behind the plate. It's the tiniest detail on the whole craft and somehow the one everyone notices first.
All done!
Your little camper is ready to hit the road!

We'd love to see yours! Snap a photo and share it in the comments.
