How to Make a Paper Plate Caramel Apple Craft
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Get everything from the list above within arm's reach before you dive in.
Step 2: Paint the Plates
Paint the outside of one plate red for the apple and the outside of a second plate tan for the caramel coating. Let both dry.
Step 3: Trace the Apple
Print the patterns and trace the apple shape onto the red plate.
Step 4: Trace the Caramel
Trace the caramel drip shape onto the tan plate.
Step 5: Cut Both Shapes
Cut out both shapes. Save the leftover red plate scraps, you’ll need a small piece later.
Step 6: Trace the Base
Trace the caramel base onto tan cardstock.
Step 7: Cut the Base and Stick
Cut out the base, plus a popsicle stick shape from ivory cardstock.
Step 8: Layer the Caramel Coating
Glue the tan caramel piece over the top portion of the red apple piece.
Step 9: Attach the Base
Glue the tan cardstock base to the bottom back of the caramel apple.
Step 10: Add the Popsicle Stick
Attach the ivory popsicle stick to the top back, then glue the small red scrap behind the stick for a little extra hold.
Step 11: Add the Eyes
Add the wiggle eyes to the face.
Step 12: Stamp On Cheeks
Stamp pink cheeks on either side of the face with the sponge dabber and let dry.
Step 13: Draw the Smile
Draw a smile from cheek to cheek with the black marker.
Step 14: Tie On a Bow
Tie a bow from ribbon or twine and glue it to the popsicle stick. This is a great step to hand to your kid, even if the bow comes out a little lopsided.
All done!
Hang your finished caramel apple up on display!
We'd love to see yours! Snap a photo and share it in the comments.
