How to Make Your Popsicle Stick Apple
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Gather your supplies and get ready to turn plain popsicle sticks into a cheerful apple buddy.
Step 2: Build the Base
Line up your craft sticks side by side, then glue a small piece of stick across the back to hold them together like a little wooden fence.
Step 3: Paint the Apples
Paint one set of sticks bright red for a classic apple, and another set green for a granny-smith-style apple. Let them dry before moving on (patience is the hardest part!).
Step 4: Cut the Stems
Snip a couple of short popsicle stick pieces to use as stems.
Step 5: Paint the Stems
Paint your apple stems a nice chocolate-brown shade and let them dry.
Step 6: Cut the Leaves
Cut out two leaf shapes from green felt. You can go big and leafy or small and subtle — apples don’t mind.
Step 7: Shape the Leaves
Pinch the base of each leaf and glue them so they look extra 3D and lively.
Step 8: Attach the Stems and Leaves
Glue your stems and leaves to the back of the apple tops. Now they look like actual apples instead of colorful rectangles.
Step 9: Add the Eyes
Add googly eyes to the front of each apple — one red, one green — because apples are always cuter when they can stare back at you.
Step 10: Add Cheeks and Smiles
Dip a sponge or brush in pink paint and give each apple rosy cheeks. Adorable, right?
Use your black marker to draw big happy smiles on both apples.
All done!
Now your apples are ready to brighten up your classroom, kitchen, or fridge!
