How to Make a Paper Plate Cornucopia Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Gather everything on the list above before you start.

Step 2: Add the Paint
Drip dark brown paint in the center of the paper plate and medium brown paint around the edges.

Step 3: Blend the Colors
Starting at the outer edge, carefully mix the paint colors together in a circle to create a blended pattern. Let it dry.

Step 4: Trace the Cone and Trim
Print the cornucopia patterns and cut them out. Trace the cone once and the trim twice onto tan cardstock with a pencil.

Step 5: Cut Out the Cone and Trim
Cut out the pieces, cutting just inside the traced lines for a clean finish.

Step 6: Join the Trim
Glue the two trim pieces together with the glue gun, using the edge of the paper plate as a guide. Tip: You can use liquid craft glue instead, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
Step 7: Add the Details
Using the photo as a guide, outline the trim and cone with a brown marker and add details.

Step 8: Attach the Plate
Glue the paper plate onto the cornucopia cone.

Step 9: Add the Trim
Glue the trim around the edge of the paper plate.

Step 10: Trace the Harvest
Trace the apple once onto red cardstock, the corn once onto yellow, the pear once onto bright green, the pumpkin and carrot once each onto orange, the simple leaf twice onto medium green, and the oak leaf twice onto burgundy. You could also use colored craft foam, construction paper, or felt.

Step 11: Cut Out the Harvest
Cut out all the fruits, vegetables, and leaves, cutting just inside the traced lines.

Step 12: Color the Details
Using the photo as a guide, outline and draw details on each piece with a matching washable marker.

Step 13: Add the Foam Tape
Stick a piece of foam tape to the back of each fruit, vegetable, and leaf. Foam adhesive dots or squares work too.

Step 14: Fill the Cornucopia
Finish by peeling the backing off the foam tape and layering the fruits, vegetables, and leaves onto the cornucopia.
