How to Make a Paper Plate Owl Craft

With supplies in hand, here's how this one takes shape.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Get everything from the list above within arm's reach before you dive in.

White paper plate with pink and purple acrylic paint, foam dauber, paintbrush, googly eyes, hot glue gun, orange scissors, black marker, and sheets of purple, lavender, and yellow paper.

Step 2: Paint the Plate

Paint the outside of the plate lavender and let it dry, adding a second coat if needed.

Step 3: Cut the Pieces

Print the owl patterns, then trace and cut a beak and two talons from yellow cardstock, two wings and a set of eye circles from purple cardstock, and three feathers and two ears from lavender cardstock.

Step 4: Attach the Edge Pieces

Glue the ears, wings, and talons around the edge of the plate. Laying every piece out on the plate before gluing anything helps keep the wings and talons evenly placed.

Step 5: Attach the Eyes and Beak

Glue the eye circles and beak to the center of the plate, then add the wiggle eyes on top of the eye circles.

Step 6: Attach the Chest Feathers

Attach the three feather pieces in a row across the owl's chest.

Step 7: Add the Nostril Details

Finish by drawing two small ovals at the top center of the beak with the black marker.
