How to Make a Paper Plate Hedgehog Craft

Time to get hands-on, here's how it all goes together.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Lay out everything from the list above ahead of time, it makes the actual crafting go a lot smoother.

Step 2: Paint the Plate

Paint the inside of the plate brown and let it dry.

Step 3: Cut the Body Pieces

Print the patterns, then trace and cut a body from light brown cardstock, a nose from black cardstock, and two inner ears from pink cardstock.

Step 4: Assemble the Face

Glue the inner ears, nose, and wiggle eyes onto the body piece, then lightly trace where the arms and legs should go with a pencil.

Step 5: Ink In the Details

Draw a mouth under the nose and ink in the arms and legs with the black marker.

Step 6: Stamp On Cheeks

Stamp pink cheeks on either side of the nose with the small sponge dabber and let dry.

Step 7: Cut the Spiky Edge

Cut a jagged, pointed pattern around the entire edge of the brown-painted plate to create the spiky outer layer, this is the step that does all the work, take it slow and let the points stay a little uneven.

Step 8: Attach the Body

Glue the hedgehog's body onto the center of the spiky plate to finish.
