How to Make a Paper Plate Turkey Leg Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Gather everything on the list above before you start.

Step 2: Paint the Paper Plate

Paint the outside of the paper plate medium brown and set it aside to dry. Add a second coat if needed.

Step 3: Trace the Turkey Leg

Print the turkey leg patterns and cut them out. Trace the turkey leg onto the brown paper plate with a pencil.

Step 4: Cut Out the Turkey Leg

Cut out the turkey leg, cutting just inside the traced lines for a clean edge.

Step 5: Trace the Bone

Trace the bone once onto ivory cardstock. Craft foam, construction paper, or felt work too.

Step 6: Cut Out the Bone

Cut out the bone, again cutting just inside the traced lines.

Step 7: Outline the Pieces

Use a black permanent marker to outline the turkey leg and the bone with squiggly, random lines, adding a few dots here and there.

Step 8: Attach the Bone

Glue the bone to the bottom of the turkey leg with a glue gun. Liquid craft glue works too, you just have to wait for it to dry.

Step 9: Add the Eyes

Glue two wiggle eyes onto the turkey leg.

Step 10: Stamp the Cheeks

Dip a round sponge dabber in pink paint and stamp a cheek on each side of the face. Let the paint dry.

Step 11: Draw the Smile

Finish by drawing a smile from cheek to cheek with a black permanent marker.

All done!

Your silly turkey leg is ready for Thanksgiving!
