Thanksgiving Dot to Dot Printables for Preschool and Kindergarten

These Thanksgiving dot to dot pages have kids counting their way to a turkey, a pumpkin, a slice of pie and nine more fall pictures. They start at 1, connect the dots in order, and the picture appears.
There are 12 pictures, and each one comes in black and white and in color. Some count to 20 and some go all the way to 40, so the same set works for kids who are just learning their numbers and kids who are ready for more.
What Kids Practice With Dot to Dot
Dot to dot pages mix math and fine motor work. Kids have to find the next number, which means reading numbers in order and scanning the page for them. Then they draw a straight line from one dot to the next and stop right on the target, which takes real pencil control.
The pages also show part of each picture already drawn, like the turkey's feathers and the corn husks. That gives kids a hint about what they are making and keeps them motivated to finish.

Picking the Right Count
Every picture has a set number of dots, so you can match the page to the child:
- Up to 20: acorn, corn, feather and pie
- Up to 30: turkey, cornucopia, slice of pie and squash
- Up to 40: pumpkin, sunflower, roasted turkey and turkey leg
Start with the pages that use numbers kids already know. For kids who are still learning to count past 10, do a 1 to 20 page together and say each number out loud before drawing the line.

Setting Kids Up to Succeed
- Say the numbers out loud. It keeps kids on track and doubles as counting practice.
- Find the next number before drawing. Have kids put a finger on the next dot first, then draw the line to it.
- Lost their place? Look for the last number with a line attached and start again from there.
- Wobbly lines are fine. The goal is getting from dot to dot in order.

Black and White or Color
On the black-and-white pages, the picture is blank inside, so kids can color it when they finish connecting the dots. That adds a little more fine motor practice and makes a nice finished picture to take home.
On the color pages, the picture is already filled in. Those are quicker to finish, which makes them a good fit for a center or a short time slot.

Ways to Use Them in November
- A math center with a few pages at different counts so kids can choose.
- Morning work. Each page takes just a few minutes.
- A reusable center. Slide a page into a sheet protector and connect the dots with a dry-erase marker.
- An early finisher folder for the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving.
