How to Make an Easter Basket Paper Plate Craft
This paper plate Easter basket craft involves painting, coloring, cutting, and a little gluing. Follow the steps below to create this super cute Easter craft.
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Gather all the supplies for this paper plate Easter basket craft. Having everything ready before you begin makes the process smooth and enjoyable.
Step 2: Paint the Paper Plate
Basecoat the outside of the paper plate with medium brown acrylic craft paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat if necessary.
Step 3: Print the Basket Pattern
Download, print, and cut out the basket pattern.
Step 4: Trace the Basket
Trace the basket shape onto the outside of the painted paper plate with a pencil.
Step 5: Cut Out the Basket
Cut out the basket shape with scissors, making sure to cut outside the traced lines for a clean, finished look.
Step 6: Draw the Basket Weave Pattern
Using a black marker, draw a plaid or basket weave pattern on the base of the basket and some lines along the handle.
Step 7: Prepare the Easter Eggs
Download and print the Easter egg pattern sheet onto white cardstock.
Step 8: Color the Easter Eggs
Color in all of the Easter egg images with colored pencils, crayons, or markers — the more colorful, the better!
Step 9: Cut Out the Eggs
Cut out all the Easter egg patterns with scissors.
Step 10: Stack the Eggs
Attach 5 or 6 Easter eggs together in a stack using a glue gun and glue sticks.
Step 11: Attach the Grass
Attach a handful of green paper shreds to the back edge of the Easter basket with a glue gun.
Step 12: Fluff the Grass Over the Edge
Make sure the grass hangs over the front edge of the basket!
Step 13: Add the Eggs to the Basket
To finish, attach the stacked Easter eggs to the back of the basket with a glue gun and glue sticks.
All done!
