Everything you need to create a paper cup carrot |

Start by painting the whole paper cup with orange acrylic color paper. Use a paintbrush to apply the paint evenly and cover the entire surface of the cup. Let the paint dry completely.

Paint the paper cup orange |

Cut the green Japanese paper into thin strips, approximately 1 inch wide. Crumple the strips into small balls to create a textured look.

Put the green Japanese paper balls inside the paper cup, filling it up to about two-thirds of the way.

add green tissue paper |

Use a black marker to draw a horizontal line around the paper cup, just above the green paper balls. This line will serve as the top of your carrot.

Draw horizontal lines |

Draw small, vertical lines on the orange paper cup, starting from the black line and going down towards the bottom of the cup. These lines will create the appearance of ridges on the carrot.

Optional: Cut out a small green stem from the green Japanese paper and glue it onto the top of the carrot.

Notes

Tips:

Encourage your child to experiment with different techniques when painting the paper cup. They can use different brush strokes or even try finger painting to create a unique texture.

Help your child with the cutting and crumpling of the green Japanese paper to create a realistic texture for the carrot's leaves.

If your child is struggling with drawing the vertical lines on the orange paper cup, you can use a ruler to make the lines straight and even.
