How to Make a Paper Plate TP Tube Turkey Craft

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Gather everything on the list above before you start.
Step 2: Cut the Paper Plate
Fold a paper plate in half, then cut it in half with scissors.

Step 3: Paint the Tube
Paint the outside of the toilet paper tube brown. Let it dry and add a second coat if needed.

Step 4: Add the Paint
Starting at the center, drip burgundy, orange, golden yellow, and tan paint following the arch of the paper plate.

Step 5: Blend the Colors
Starting at the outer edge, carefully mix the paint colors together in a rainbow-style arch to make blended stripes. Let it dry.

Step 6: Trace the Tail
Print the turkey patterns and cut them out. Trace the tail feathers onto the painted paper plate with a pencil.

Step 7: Cut Out the Tail
Cut out the tail feathers, cutting just inside the traced lines for a clean finish.

Step 8: Trace the Face and Feet
Trace the wattle once onto red cardstock, and the beak once and the feet twice onto golden yellow cardstock. You could also use colored craft foam, construction paper, or felt.

Step 9: Cut Out the Pieces
Cut out the wattle, beak, and feet, cutting just inside the traced lines.

Step 10: Add the Eyes
Glue the wattle to the back of the beak. Glue two wiggle eyes onto the turkey with the glue gun. Tip: You can use liquid craft glue instead, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

Step 11: Add the Beak and Feet
Glue the beak and wattle just under the wiggle eyes. Glue the feet to the bottom of the tube.

Step 12: Attach the Tail
Glue the paper plate tail feathers to the back of the turkey body.

Step 13: Draw the Nostrils
Finish by drawing two nostrils on top of the beak with a black permanent marker.
