Instructions

  1. Start by gathering all of your supplies so everything is ready to go before you begin. Craft supplies for a paper plate ladybug including paints, pom-poms, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and a paper plate.
  2. Paint the majority of the paper plate with red acrylic paint and set it aside to dry completely. Paper plate being painted red with a paintbrush.
  3. Once the red paint has dried, use black paint to cover the top portion of the plate, creating the ladybug’s head. Top of the paper plate painted black to create the ladybug’s head.
  4. Paint a black vertical line down the center of the red area to divide the wings. Black vertical line painted down the center of the plate for wings.
  5. Use a sponge dabber dipped in pink paint to add two round cheeks just under where the eyes will go.
  6. Glue two large googly eyes above the pink cheeks. Pink cheeks being added to the ladybug with a sponge dabber.
  7. Add black pom-poms across the red section of the plate to create the ladybug’s spots. Black pom-poms glued onto the red area to form ladybug spots.
  8. Cut a black pipe cleaner in half and curl the ends to form the antennae. Black pipe cleaner bent into antennae shapes.
  9. Glue the pipe cleaners to the back of the plate so they stick up from the top of the head. Ladybug paper plate with googly eyes, cheeks, spots, and antennae glued on.
