How to Make a Popsicle Stick Pencil
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Gather your supplies. You’ll need your craft sticks, paint, paper, scissors, and glue — everything to transform these plain sticks into a fun pencil.
Step 2: Paint the Sticks Orange
Paint all three craft sticks orange. This will be the body of your pencil. Let them dry completely so they don’t smudge when you move to the next step.
Step 3: Tape the Sticks Together
Line the three orange sticks side by side and secure them together with clear tape on the back. This keeps the base of your pencil nice and sturdy.
Step 4: Cut the Pencil Pieces
Cut a rounded pink rectangle for the eraser, a thin white strip for the metal band, and a brown triangle for the sharpened wood tip.
Step 5: Assemble the Pencil
Glue the eraser to the top of the sticks with the white band just below it, then glue the brown tip to the bottom.
Step 6: Draw the Tip
Use your black marker to draw the graphite tip at the very end of the triangle. Add fun details like a pencil number (such as “01”) if you want.
All done!
Let everything dry and admire your pencil. It’s a perfect back-to-school decoration!
