Seahorse Handprint Craft
If there were a contest for the fanciest fish in the sea, the seahorse would win it…hooves down. Wait. Do they have hooves? No. But they do have curly tails, wild mohawk-style fins, and serious underwater swagger.
This seahorse handprint craft is the perfect combo of whimsy and skill-building. Your kid gets to trace, cut, and glue their way through a sea-themed adventure, and you get a moment of calm while they create something adorable. (Or chaotic. That’s art.)

Take the Craft Further: Seahorse Science + Ocean Fun!
Let’s sneak in some learning while we’re at it. Here’s how to keep the fun going once the glue dries:
- Did you know seahorses are actually fish even though they swim upright? Talk about rebels.
- Seahorse dads carry the babies. Yup. That pouch? Full of tiny future seahorses.
- Movement matters – ask your child how they think a seahorse swims. Try acting it out with your arms and some silly spinning!
You can also pair this craft with books like Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle or Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea for even more ocean-themed fun.
