How to Make a Paper Plate Mouse Craft

Time to start building, here's how it all comes together.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Lay out everything from the list above ahead of time, it makes the actual crafting go a lot smoother.

Step 2: Paint the Plate

Paint the inside of the plate gray and let it dry, adding a second coat if needed.

Step 3: Cut the Face Pieces

Print the mouse patterns, then trace and cut a nose from black cardstock, a muzzle and two outer ears from gray cardstock, two inner ears from pink cardstock, and teeth from white cardstock.

Step 4: Attach the Ears

Glue the inner ears onto the outer ears.

Step 5: Assemble the Muzzle

Outline the teeth and add a few dots to the muzzle with the black marker, then glue the nose and teeth onto the muzzle. Building the muzzle as its own little unit first makes this one much easier to keep tidy.

Step 6: Attach the Muzzle

Add the wiggle eyes to the plate, then glue the finished muzzle onto the face just below them.

Step 7: Attach the Ears to the Head

Attach the ears to the top corners of the mouse's head.

Step 8: Cut the Whiskers

Cut the chenille stem into six 4-inch pieces.

Step 9: Attach the Whiskers

Finish by gluing three whiskers to each side of the muzzle.
