Cat Popsicle Stick Craft Step-by-Step (Easy Kids Craft)
This one is basically a “build-a-cat” situation… but with popsicle sticks. The best kind of situation, honestly.
Step 1: Gather your supplies
Set out the orange paint, craft sticks, cardstock, scissors, glue, and marker.
You’ll be glad everything’s within reach before the paint step starts, because once kids see paint, they suddenly become very fast.
Step 2: Paint the craft sticks orange
Paint four craft sticks orange and let them dry completely.
Step 3: Glue the painted sticks together
Line up the four painted sticks vertically and glue them together to form the cat’s body base.
Step 4: Cut out the paper shapes
Cut orange ear shapes, white eye circles, a white snout shape, a curved orange tail, and small paw shapes from cardstock.
The pieces don’t have to be perfect. A slightly wonky cat has personality.
Step 5: Glue on the ears
Glue the orange ear shapes behind the top of the craft stick base so they stick out on both sides.
Step 6: Glue on the eyes and snout
Glue the white eye circles and the white snout shape onto the front of the craft stick base.
Step 7: Draw the cat’s face with a black marker
Use the black marker to draw the eyes, nose, whiskers, and mouth on the white paper pieces.
Step 8: Glue on the tail and paws
Glue the curved orange tail to one side of the craft and attach the paw shapes at the bottom.
Step 9: Display
Set your cat popsicle stick craft out to dry, then display it on a bulletin board, fridge, or craft wall.
This is the kind of craft that deserves to be seen, not stuffed into a backpack to get crushed by a forgotten snack.
