Frog Handprint Craft
Ready to leap into some hands-on fun? This frog handprint craft is the kind of easy, low-mess, high-giggle activity that preschool dreams are made of. We’re talking goofy frog faces, sticky glue fingers, and a tongue so long it would make Kermit jealous.
Perfect for spring themes, pond units, rainy day boredom busters…or honestly, just because frogs are funny. This craft gives your little one the chance to turn their hand into something ridiculously adorable. And the best part? It sneakily builds fine motor skills while you’re both too busy cracking up over how silly that tongue looks.
So, if your house is anything like mine and you’ve got a kid who thinks saying “ribbit” loudly at the dinner table is peak comedy, this one’s for you.

Instructions
- Gather your supplies.
- Trace a hand onto green construction paper and cut it out. This will be the frog’s body.
- Cut a green oval shape with two rounded bumps (like a peanut!). This will be the base for the frog’s eyes.
- Cut two white circles to fit over the bumps and glue them on.
- Use a black marker to draw pupils inside the white circles. Add a little white dot in each for a cartoon sparkle.
- Glue the finished eye piece to the top of the green handprint, above the fingers.
- Cut a small black semicircle for the mouth.
- Cut a red rectangle with a rounded end for the tongue.
- Glue the red tongue to the back of the mouth so it sticks out like the frog is mid-ribbit.
- Glue the mouth and tongue to the palm area of the handprint.
- Let everything dry, then let your froggy friend hop into your next storytime, lesson, or craft parade!

But Wait—It’s Not Just a Craft
Besides being ridiculously fun, this activity is sneakily educational. While your child is tracing, cutting, gluing, and decorating, they’re also building coordination, hand strength, and learning to follow steps. It’s like ninja-level learning, hidden under a pile of googly eyes and frog jokes.
And you? You get a break from screens and noise and “can I have a snack?” for at least for twenty blessed minutes.
Stick that frog on the fridge and you’ve got a reminder of a silly, sweet moment with your little one. (And if you’re like me, you’ll keep it long past spring.)
