Sheep Craft Stick Project
This sweet sheep popsicle stick craft is the perfect farm-themed activity for preschoolers! Easy materials, step-by-step visuals, and a printable template included.
Materials
- 5 jumbo craft sticks
- White paper or cardstock
- Brown construction paper (for ears)
- Pink paper (for hooves)
- Glue stick
- Black marker
Tools
- Scissors
Instructions
- Gather your craft sticks, glue, scissors, and paper. Mentally prepare yourself for the level of cuteness you’re about to create.
- Line up five jumbo craft sticks side by side. Tape or glue a strip of paper across the back to hold them together like a fence panel. Boom—instant sheep torso.
- Use the printable template to cut out the head fluff, body fluff, and ears. Stick to white paper for fluff, and brown for ears (but hey, you’re the farmer—get wild if you want purple sheep ears).
- Glue the body fluff near the bottom of your stick panel and the head fluff at the top. Let the ears peek out from under the head fluff like they’re eavesdropping on something juicy.
- Use your black marker to draw big friendly eyes, a little nose, and whatever kind of sheep smile speaks to your soul. Go traditional, silly, sleepy—this sheep’s personality is all you.
- Cut four tiny hoof shapes from pink paper. Two go at the top of the body (arms? legs?), two at the bottom. It’s not anatomically accurate, but it’s undeniably cute.
- Your sheep is done! Stick it on a green background and create a pasture scene, or let it wander free-range across the fridge. Maybe give it a name. We like Wooliam.

Ideas to Extend the Fun
Want to turn this simple sheep into a full afternoon of farmyard fun? Try these:
- Make a whole flock. Let each child decorate their sheep with different expressions or accessories. Bow ties, eyelashes, even unicorn horns, we don’t judge.
- Read a book. Pair this craft with “Sheep in a Jeep” or “Where Is the Green Sheep?” for an easy storytime combo.
- Farm lesson tie-ins. Use your sheep as part of a larger farm theme. Talk about wool, animal sounds, or what sheep need to live happily.
- Combine with other animals. If your barnyard needs more residents, check out our popsicle stick tractor or the rest of our farm animal crafts for kids.
