How to Make a Popsicle Craft Stick Craft
This popsicle craft stick craft comes together with painting, cutting, and gluing. Follow the steps below to make your adorable ice cream popsicle characters.
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Gather all the supplies for this popsicle craft stick craft. Having everything laid out before you start makes the process smooth and extra fun.
Step 2: Build the Popsicle Base
Group 5 craft sticks side by side for the popsicle head. Leave 2 additional sticks extending below as the handle. Glue all the sticks together.
Step 3: Paint the Popsicle Head
Paint the top 5 sticks (the popsicle head) in your chosen color. Leave the handle sticks natural or paint them a contrasting color. Let dry and apply a second coat if necessary.
Step 4: Cut the Foam (or Felt) Shapes
Cut a rounded top shape and a drip shape from foam sheets in a coordinating color and attach them to the top and side of the popsicle head for a melty ice cream look.
Step 5: Add the Decorations
Decorate the popsicle with cut foam confetti, small foam pieces for sprinkles, rhinestones, or loops of chenille stem. The more colorful, the better!
Step 6: Add the Eyes and Mouth
Attach googly eyes to the popsicle face. Use a black marker to draw a fun smile, surprised expression, or whatever face your kiddo wants!
Step 7: Repeat for More Popsicles
Repeat the steps to make a whole set of popsicle characters in different colors and expressions — a fun family of frozen treats!
Your adorable popsicle craft stick characters are done — the coolest craft of the summer!
